Journey by Stephen Clark
    to Ridgetown Look out!

You keep walking, going deeper into the barren wasteland. After a while you hear a growling sound from nearby - it sounds like some kind of wild animal. You stop, paralysed with fear. Out of the long grass comes a black Rottweiler dog with its teeth bared. It runs towards you and you try to run away but it catches your foot in it teeth and makes you fall down. You scream as the dog chews on your leg, growling and tearing off bits. The dog suddenly stops growling and just sits there for a while. Then it goes away. You lie there for a few hours and blood flows out of you. By nightfall you have bled to death.
