Self Defence
by Stephen Clark
Feb. 25th, 2000

I was sitting in my home
I was surfing on the internet, at a really cool chat site
When I heard a frightening sound
A crash and then a tinkle, broken glass fell to my right
So I turned towards the window, there was someone coming through
I could see a man all dressed in black, and I knew he saw me too
So I feared now that my life could be in danger
For I knew not the intentions of this stranger
What was I supposed to do?

I yelled "What the f*** is this?
Get the f*** out of my house before I get my f***ing gun!"
He said "I'm your worst nightmare
But I'm easily offended so just watch the language, son."
Then he reached inside his jacket and pulled out a great big knife
I asked "What do you want from me?" He said "I want to take your life."
So I ran to get my AK-47
Thinking "I may have to send this guy to heaven,
Make a widow of his wife."

He kept on coming at me
Even though I aimed the gun at him, and said "Stop or else I'll shoot!"
Well I shot him in the arm
He winced with pain, and dropped the knife, it landed by his boot
But I underestimated him, this uninvited guest
He picked the knife right up again and continued on his quest
So I pointed at his leg and pulled the trigger
But he staggered on with undiminished vigour
So I shot him in the chest.

The injured man fell down
Spilling blood across my carpet, I said "I don't understand
Why you broke into my house
And kept on coming, though you saw the gun was in my hand."
He said "I only want to end my life, though the reason I can't tell
I knew you from the internet, I knew you'd kill me well..."
After that he was not capable of language
And for causing me this pain and mental anguish
I am sure he went to hell.
